Win or Lose
By: Hannah Harris
The United States men’s hockey team has done well in the many games that they have competed in at the Olympics.  The Czech Republic was the last team to go against Team USA in hockey.  With Team USA’s recent win against the Czech Republic in the quarter finals, they are looking forward to the next matchup with Canada in the semi-finals. The Czech Republic had a real chance of winning a medal,  but the U.S. scored more points than they did.  The Swedish defeated Slovenia and Finland defeated Russia.  The Canadians barely won against Latvia.
The Americans have been successful in their game because they have the best players from the United States playing for their team.  Phil Kessel has been the best person to play because he scored five times in the last four games.  Joe Pavelski and James van Riemsdyk have also averaged one point per game.  Team mate Ryan Sutter has played twenty two minutes in the United States elimination contest.  The U.S. team has played very well in Sochi and this is the first time that America has been able help other players outside of North America.
Over the recent years at the Olympics, the Americans have failed to win a hockey final game to get the gold. The U.S. has been strong for many years in their own country.  Team U.S.A. has a real chance to win at Sochi.  The hockey team has made major improvements and this can be made possible by the coaching staff. Skill, speed, and watching the goal are the main reason that this team is so good.
