The new animated “Lego Movie” was ranked number one in the box office for it’s third week in a row. With it’s $31.5 million money intake, The Lego Movie has raised
above such movies as Robocop, Pompeii, and more!
As of Sunday, February 23, the animated movie about Lego building blocks has
pulled in more than $30 million worth of viewers. The Kevin Costner spy thriller
“3 Days to Kill” was second with $12.3 million and the volcano epic “Pompeii”
was left with $10.1 million for third. “The Lego Movie” ranked the second best
third weekend an animated movie has ever had, behind only “Shrek 2,” which made
$37 million back in 2004. The creators of The Lego Movie have $225 million
stashed away for “hopefully” a sequel to their record breaking film. If they do
make a second movie, it most likely won’t cost every penny they not already have
but will receive in the future and can put it toward Lego Movie Lego sets!
