Article on Anthem

Anthem a game that was so over hyped up that it was released early. Bioware is a game company that was making anthem and needed a publisher and that’s where EA came in. Anthem was released globally on february 22nd of 2019.  The reason anthem failed was of its pushed release date and lack of servers, even to hold the amount of players it was planning on getting in a closed beta.

Anthem was a very good game being shown at E-3. Anthem is an Action MMORPG on a distant planet where it was abandoned by god. In the game you are a freelancer who takes on multiple quest to get to the Anthem of Power and harvest it. In the beginning of the game you start out with one Javelin, as you progress throughout the game you gain more Javelin at certain levels. The reason anthem struggled to gain success  is do to it’s lack of polishing and it’s servers being so badly that at points and times you would wait for three hours to play one mission. There was also a multitude of game breaking bugs and quest that would take hours based on random drops and random queue times.

Anthem was also a very confusing game with multiple plot points jumping around. At one point in the game you’ll have to deal with one person split into three different personalities. Afterwards you’ll have to go on a multi quest storyline where after a few fetch quests the personality of anger runs off to try to get the Anthem of power. You rescue him and finally get the last part of the machine to put Owen back together. After awhile of fetch quest and help missions for the guards you go to find your old crew with owen flying a javelin with you. He makes a big deal about you using your old cypher again and flies away. The next main quest involves you flying to the javelin of dawn the only thing that can get you into the heart of rage and claim the Anthem of power. As you go to claim your new suit your javelin starts to freeze up and you can no longer move. Owen steps out and takes credit for sabotaging your javelin and takes the Suit of Dawn for himself. Lucky your new Cypher Faye get a picture of the dawn shield. An item that protects the user in the heart of rage. There is more to the story but it gets way more complicated from there.

Anthem was a beautiful game with an amazing idea. With the idea of flying around like iron man and fighting monster was a great idea. In fashion if the game had more time to develop and grow with more developers it had potential. Do to being rushed by release dates and fans it was a failure. In all if your fine with the occasional bug than you should buy anthem. It’s story is beautiful and it has amazing graphics. So buy this if you’d wish for a good story with some bugs.
