On Wednesday, October 30, 2013, Devin Kohlman, an eighth-grader from Port Clinton, Ohio who is dying from terminal brain cancer, made a wish that he could celebrate Christmas early. The citizens of Port Clinton learned of Devin’s wish and his entire town came together to make that wish come true.
act of kindness was started when the thirteen year old brain cancer patient, Devin Kohlman, wished that he could celebrate Christmas early. When Devin was released from the hospital, his neighbors had just finished decorating his
street with a large Christmas tree and wreaths and many other Christmas spirited decorations. He also received presents donated by a local Wal-mart.
Old Saint Nick visited the patient on a motorcycle. Devin’s mother said to the crowd of Christmas carolers outside of their apartment, “You guys, Santa Clause on a motorcycle got the biggest smile (from Devin) I've seen in a while!”
While the citizens of Port Clinton are resting easily knowing that they truly did a good deed, Devin Kohlman and his family are enjoying their early Christmas together. Maybe when December 25th finally rolls around, we can all think of Devin and the wonderful thing that his caring neighbors did for this very sick boy.
