The F.L. L. season for the AMS teams has sadly come to an end. The teams have had time to rest and take a well deserved break from their busy practice schedule for the tournaments that were held in November, December and January. However, there are some upcoming events to look forward to during the off season that will hopefully keep the F.L.L. spirit going. There are three events planned as of now with hopefully more to come.
Saturday, May 3, 2014, the AMS FLL teams will be having a Robo Expo at the Eastwood Mall. This event hosted by the Austintown teams will be held beginning at noon. AMS is inviting all teams that they have competed against in hopes that the Eastwood Mall will be filled with teams displaying their projects and robots. In the center concourse of the mall will be four tournament style tables set up for each team to show what their robot can accomplish. The AMS teams invite everyone to join them and show support for the AMS teams.
July 4, 2014 the Austintown Township holds a parade that runs down Raccoon Rd. This parade runs from Ruli Bros, parking lot to Fitch High School. This year the teams will have float in the parade showing off their FLL spirit along with their robot and project. Come show your support as they ride on a trailer down thru the parade.
In August, the AMS FLL teams along with the FRC team from the high school will be having a Robotics day at the Mahoning Valley Scrappers game. The date is to be determined yet, but the teams will be passing out flyers at the Austintown 4th of July parade with all the details. For every ticket sold the Robotics teams will raise half the price. This will help fund the upcoming seasons tournament entry fees and supplies needed for the robotic teams. Please come and support your local teams at this fun filled event.
Although the competition season has come to a close, there is much more to do with the FLL teams. Please join us in one of the events and help support the future robotic teams.
